By using Picvote.me, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you will not be able to use Picvote.me.

This policy may change from time to time. If you keep using Picvote.me (the site or the app) after changes are made, you accept any updates we make.

1. What information do we collect?

When you register, vote on photos, or test them, we collect a few pieces of information to provide and improve our service. This is separate from the photos themselves.

We may collect:

  • First name
  • Email address
  • Birth date or birth year
  • Gender

You may optionally provide occupation-related information when adding a context label to Business images in which you are the photo subject.

If you register using Facebook or LinkedIn, you may be asked for information specific to your Facebook or LinkedIn account. Those platforms will list the requested information so you can accept or deny the requests at the time of registration.

2. What do we use your information for?

We use your email to contact you regarding your account and to send periodic emails. If you no longer wish to receive our photo tips or stay connected with us, you can opt out at any time.

Your name, gender, and birth date/year help us personalize your experience, ensure the correct photos are shown to the correct users, and improve the product.

Any actions performed on Picvote.me, such as votes and comments left on photos, are collected and retained as a core function of providing and maintaining our service. These actions may be used without identifying information to make Picvote.me even better.

3. Deletion of personal data

If you think you might come back to us (and they always do), consider keeping your profile on hold instead of deleting it.

To delete your account permanently, visit our account deletion page. Deleting your account permanently deletes your personal data.

To delete only individual photos or tests, refer to our Help Center.

If you are unable to access your account, you can also request deletion of your personal data through our feedback form or by emailing our support team.

4. We don't disclose info to outside parties unless you request

In any merger or acquisition scenario, your public and private information will follow suit with the sole purpose of delivering the purchased service requested (photo feedback).

This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating Picvote.me, conducting business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential.

We may also release your information when we believe it is appropriate, such as: to comply with the law, enforce site policies, or protect our or others' rights, property, or safety.

5. How we protect your information

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information, such as secure HTTP connections and mandatory logins, alongside additional database best practices.

We do not store any sensitive or credit information. All of this is handled through our payment processors.

6. What is our use of cookies?

We use session ID cookies that last only while you are visiting Picvote.me. We also employ persistent cookies (also known as local storage devices) for login and security. Most browsers have these enabled by default, but you may also disable cookies yourself in your browser settings. However, most features may not work if you block cookies.

Furthermore, Picvote.me uses cookies and local storage devices to ensure security and provide the requested features. Cookie use typically falls into three categories:

  • Strictly necessary: Cookies required to deliver the services and products you have requested.
  • Performance-based: Analytics cookies that help us understand how the site and app perform and ensure a smooth user experience.
  • Third-party: Cookies related to functionality, such as social login.

Sometimes the feature you choose, such as social login, may allow a third party to place cookies or local storage devices on your device. The third party that places cookies on your device is responsible for how they process their data, and we recommend that you read their privacy policies too.

As with everything, our use of cookies and local storage devices, including the specific cookie names, may change over time.
